Savage Patriot-POLYKOTE PRO- CT UV Countertop Coating (2 Gallon Kit) 30-35 Min. WORKING TIME /FASTER CURE TIME
PolyKote Pro boasts faster cure times, typically around 3-5 hours to the touch, along with a convenient working time of approximately 25-30 minutes. But here's the kicker: it's not your run-of-the-mill epoxy. This is a hybrid coating engineered for longevity. While traditional epoxy may dazzle initially, it often falls victim to yellowing and dullness over time. That's where Savage Patriot's PolyKote Pro Coating comes in – a true game-changer for the countertop coating industry. Offering the same versatility as epoxy but with superior strength and UV resistance, PolyKote stands head and shoulders above the competition.
Sure, it may come at a slightly higher cost than epoxy, but trust me, it's worth every penny. The premium raw materials used in PolyKote's production far surpass those of epoxy. If you're only concerned about short-term savings, then maybe PolyKote isn't for you. But if your priority is ensuring long-term durability and avoiding callbacks from unhappy clients due to deteriorating countertops, then PolyKote Pro is the answer you've been searching for.
30-35 Minute working time. NO TORCHING REQUIRED- But can be used to move or warm product.
Note: All PolyKote products require a protective topcoat. Due to the Polymerization the substrate can experience shrinkage leaving a slight orange peel surface. This is normal. Sanding and applying the topcoat will flatten the surface and protect it. But again, these formulations will out perform epoxies.
Add metallic pigment, solid tints and more!
1:1 Mix Ratio. 2- Gallon Kit yields approximately 51 SF per kit at 5oz per SF or 85 SF at 3oz per SF. Do not pour more than 5oz per SF in one pour. Heat Resistant, NON- Yellowing, Water Resistant, Easy to Clean, Low Odor, Low VOC, No torching required.
Note: For Additives
Despite these measures, some additives used in materials may not be UV stable themselves. For example, certain types of colorants or fillers may be prone to UV-induced degradation or discoloration over time. When these additives degrade, they can sometimes impart an amber hue to the material. This phenomenon is often observed in plastics, paints, and coatings that are not specifically formulated for UV stability.
The process by which non-UV stable additives amber over time involves chemical reactions triggered by UV radiation. UV exposure can break chemical bonds in these additives, leading to the formation of chromophores, which are responsible for the amber coloration. Additionally, oxidative processes can occur, further exacerbating discoloration.
In summary, PolyKote Pro is UV stable due to its formulation, which incorporates UV stability. However, materials that lack these UV stabilizing features may experience ambering over time as UV-sensitive additives degrade in response to sunlight exposure.
